The Mid-Island Y JCC Parenting Center, located in the Early Childhood Center, provides classes and coordinates events designed to educate and inform parents while fostering an environment of support and friendship within our community.
NEW MOM SERIES FALL 2019
Each Thursday we will focus on a different relevant topic.
Runs for 8 weeks September 26th - November 14th, 9:30-11:00AM.
Some topics to look forward to: Tummy Time Methods, Music Together and Sleep, Rest & Play.
Parent & Child Classes
WEEKEND PARENT & ME: MOMMY MOVES
Sway to international rhythms & familiar tunes while you TORCH calories and CUDDLE baby! This is a FUN, easy-to-follow, dance fitness class that parents can do with their little ones either snuggled safely into a baby carrier OR dancing along and playing beside them!
Classes run 10 weeks: 9/22, 29, 10/6, 13, 20, 27, 11/3, 10, 17, 24 11:30-12:30pm
PARENT & ME MUSIC CLASS
With Miss Jennifer of Music Together/Not Just Art is a delightful, joyous approach to music-making with your child. For infants, toddlers, preschoolers and the adults who love them, this exceptional program (developed by the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton, New Jersey) offers families an opportunity to sing, dance and play rhythm instruments together in a relaxed, playful, non-performance-oriented setting. It nourishes parents' efforts to create a rich musical environment at home, regardless of their musical abilities.
Classes run 10 weeks on Wednesdays: 9/25, 10/2, 16, 23, 30, 11/6, 13, 20, 12/4, 11 from 4:00-4:45PM. NO CLASSES on 10/9 & 11/27
