PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS

Yes, I Can!
Designed to build self-esteem and socialization while developing fine & gross motor skills through organized play, arts & crafts, music and movement.

Little Lunch
An opportunity for preschoolers to socialize while having a nutritious lunch! Children will learn basic pre-vocational skills such as using a napkin, using a fork or drinking from a cup. Kosher lunch included

SCHOOL AGE PROGRAMS

Saturday Night Bowling - Ages 10 and up
Saturday night can be a vulnerable time for children and teens with special needs. Our Saturday Night Bowling Club is for children and teens ages 10 and up. Come join us once a month for a fun and exciting night of unlimited bowling with friends. Held on one Saturday out of the month from 6-8:30pm at the AMF Syosset Lanes, participants have the opportunity to practice social skills in a safe, well-supervised and supportive environment. Participants will be grouped by age and/or ability. Fees include bowling & shoe rental. Food & drinks may be purchased at snack bar.

Sunday Selections
The next step after Yes, I Can! Participants will continue to develop social skills as well as learn how to engage in group activities. Arts and crafts, sports, music and more!

Lunch at the Y
Enjoy lunch with friends in between morning & afternoon classes. Basic instruction includes table etiquette, nutrition and more. A kosher dairy lunch will be provided.

Super Soccer Stars©!
Super Soccer Stars© Special Needs is a unique program created exclusively for children with developmental disabilities. The program incorporates notions of structure and task completion through entertaining and engaging soccer activities. Our unique age-specific, special needs curricula is designed to ensure that each child is learning, building self-confidence, enhancing social skills, and having a blast from the first moment on.

Music & Movement Therapy
A fun and exciting movement/dance class designed to encourage self-esteem as well as develop fine and gross motor skills.

Creative Fun Day
A fun-filled class that will sure to delight. Participate in a variety of activities including music, art, cooking, crafts and more!

Art for Kids
An art enrichment class featuring activities which encourage creativity and expression. Art supplies are provided. Please bring a smock to class.

Anything Goes!
Broadway bound! Build confidence and self-esteem, improve communication skills and develop interpersonal problem solving skills through musical theater routines.

TWEEN AND TEEN PROGRAMS

Dance Mania
It is never too early to learn the universal language of dance. Dance programs blend movement, music, rhythm and improvisation! Dance steps and sequences include creative improvisation and expressive dancing inspired by stories, songs and nature.

Lunch at the Y 2
This session will focus on socialization as well as pre-vocational skills. A kosher dairy lunch will be provided.

Teen P.A.L.S.
(Positive Attitude and Life Skills)

Join our new interactive club! Teens will learn crucial social skills needed to succeed in the community while making lifelong friendships. Trips* into the community will reinforce lessons learned in the classroom. Sample topics include learning how to plan a party from A to Z, community and cultural awareness, learning how to accept change, ordering at a restaurant and so much more.
*Certain trips may incur an additional fee.
