Special Needs

Camp
The Aspire Program services children and teens with special needs, including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, mild mood disorders, and learning disabilities. Although our campers come to us with any number of diagnoses, they all share in their difficulty developing peer relationships as well as maintaining focus and self control.
Our campers may have difficulty in establishing meaningful and mutually rewarding relationships with other children. Whether due to impulsivity, an inability to read social cues, language processing difficulties, hyperactivity, or a lack of spatial awareness, our campers often respond inappropriately to the social attitudes and expectations of his or her peers.
Our campers need personal as well as interpersonal success, and the Aspire Program provides it! The goal is to create a fun, nurturing, and supportive environment by INCLUDING CHILDREN AND TEENS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS IN ALL DAY CAMP ACTIVITIES.
Campers are guided by specialized counselors who receive hands on training and supervision by certified special education teachers, speech language pathologists, and behavior specialists. The counselor to camper ratio is 1:2. There is an intake required prior to registration in order to ensure the best fit between the campers and program structure.
*The additional ASPIRE fee entitles your child to specialized counselors, individualized evaluation and supervision, daily communication with parents, school districts and other professionals.
