Before and After Daycare

Childcare at the Mid-Island Y JCC is a service we are happy to offer to members who are working parents and whose children are enrolled in any of the Early Childhood Center’s classes, except for Toddler Playgroup. Our daycare offers a stimulating variety of activities in a loving environment, at an additional hourly rate. We provide opportunities for both quiet and active play. Swim instruction (if toilet trained), crafts, outdoor play, stories, gym-time and music are included on a regular basis.

Daycare hours:
• 7:00–9:00 am – Monday–Friday
• 11:45 am–6:00 pm – Monday –Thursday
• 11:45 am-5:30 pm - Friday

Children must be registered for a minimum number of hours depending on whether they are enrolled in a half-day, extended-day or full-day program. Specific hours and days must be determined in writing prior to beginning the school year. You will be billed monthly for reserved hours and additional overtime hours are accumulated weekly and billed separately on a monthly basis.

When the nursery school is closed and the Mid-Island Y is open, you will have the opportunity to extend daycare hours to cover your normal school hours. Additional hours used on these days are billed separately. If daycare hours coincide with holiday programs, your child will be included in those activities. When the Mid-Island Y JCC is closed, so is daycare.

Daycare registration begins late November/early December for the following September, at the same time as you would register for school. A $100.00 deposit is required at the time of registration, with the deposit later credited to your daycare bill. Please call 516-822-3535 x342 for details.

The goal is to offer our children varied sports, academic, and arts programming, and to expose them to the many possibilities in the world of arts and athletics alike. All sports samplings are presented in a non-competitive and nurturing environment and all artistic and academic options are offered as a build on from the school day. In addition, our own dance center, exposing children of all ages to a variety of dance styles. With so much to choose from, everyone can create their optimal personal environment!
